The enhancement of nursing competencies for the practice and management of infectious diseases continues to be emphasized. This scenario was designed for use in baccalaureate nursing education for children with fever and respiratory symptoms during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. It is important to wear appropriate personal protective equipment according to the standard guidelines for infectious disease management, record lung sounds and oxygen saturation, and provide nursing interventions for symptom relief. The scenario developed in this study provides basic data for the initial assessment and nursing intervention procedures for children suspected of having a respiratory infection. In addition, simulation-based education can enhance clinical nursing competency.
